DOOKS

This is the third book in the DOOKS series, a continuation of the previous "FRAMEWORKS" series, and a compilation of drawings made over a period of four years. The lines are more free with greater intonation, the forms are elusive like a child at play, and the work seems to move back and forth between figuration and abstraction. The book is light and airy, as if you are turning over a croquis book, but at the same time, it looks like a single object. I chose the paper and ink to give the impression of the original, and paid close attention to details such as the weight of the book, the texture of the paper, and how the drawings fit in with the book.

前作「FRAMEWORKS」から続くシリーズで、4年の間に描かれた絵をまとめたものです。DOOKSでは3冊目となります。描線はさらに大きな抑揚を持って自由さを帯びており、フォルムは遊びまわる子供のように捉えきれず、具象と抽象の間を行き来しているように思います。造本は、まるでクロッキー帳をめくるような軽やかさを保ちつつ、ひとつのオブジェクトのように見えるよう、表紙から中ページまで一体感ある作りを意識しています。原画の印象に近づけられるよう、用紙やインクの選択をし、本の重さや紙の質感、絵の馴染みなど、細部までこだわって制作しています。
